A variety of codex products were used to lay marble in the 21 bathrooms and the fine dining room of the new Lympstone Manor Hotel. The vision and inspiration of chef and patron Michael Caines MBE was to transform the listed Georgian manor house into a luxury hotel. Exceptionally high quality workmanship was therefore of paramount importance in this prestigious project and Devon Stone was chosen as planner, supplier and project manager for the project. Devon Stone chose to use codex products because codex offers not only high quality products but also expert technical advice.
Devon Stone chose the codex WX 211 adhesive (English product) to install tiles on all floors (bathroom, W.C.'s, wine shop, gun room). The codex Hydrostop waterproofing membrane was laid with codex WX 211 to decouple the floors. Additional waterproofing was achieved by applying codex BST 75 waterproofing tape. The marble was then fixed to the wall and floor with codex WX 211 and grouted with codex Brilliant Colour Xtra grout. In addition, the natural stone silicone codex SG 20 was used in all rooms.
"Nero Marquina" and "Estremoz Marble" were water-jet cut to create a spectacular floor in the fine dining room. However, the existing wooden floor had to be reinforced with reinforcing fibres before the marble could be laid. Here, the codex Multimoll fleece was fixed in combination with codex WX 211. The marble was laid with the quick-setting, white flexible mortar codex SX 80 and grouted with codex Brilliant Colour Xtra.
Lympstone Manor offers its guests the best accommodation and fine cuisine. The new marble helps to create a comfortable, luxurious environment in which guests can relax. The client is very pleased with the completed installation and has received exceptional feedback and reviews from guests and the press.
