Cementitious thin-bed mortar (=cement)

BOND STRENGHT

The pull-off values are defined by classes C1 and C2. At this, C1 meets the minimum requirement on pull-off values with min. 0.5 N/mm². The more powerful class C2 requires minimum pull-off values of 1 N/mm². The pull-off tests are determined according to the four types of storage dry storage, water storage, warm storage and frost-thawing alternating storage. For quick-setting mortars a bond strength of ≥ 0,5 N/mm² after 6 hours is required.

DEFLECTION

Deflection is determined using a test piece made from the mortar and divided into classes S1 and S2. S1 represents deflection of min. 2.5 mm to smaller than 5 mm. S2 marks strongly deformable flex thin-bed mortars exhibiting deflection of min. 5 mm. The dual requirements of the flex mortar directive are thus met.

Dispersion-based adhesives (=dispersion)

Shear strength values are decisive for classes D1 and D2. D1 specifies the minimum requirement with a shear strength after dry and warm storage of min. 1 N/mm². D2, in addition, requires a shear strength of min. 0.5 N/mm² after water storage and min. 1 N/mm² after warm storage.

Reactive resin adhesives (=reaction)

Just as for dispersion-based adhesives, shear strength values are also tested with reactive resin adhesives; they are marked with classes R1 and R2. R1 specifies the minimum requirement with a shear strength of min. 2 N/mm² after dry and water storage. R2 requires in addition a shear strength of min. 2 N/mm² after temperature change.

In addition, three additional processing properties can be chosen for these adhesives:

  • T (= thixotropic) defines reduced slipping.
  • E (= extended open time) stands for an extended bonding open time for cementitious mortars and dispersion-based adhesives of class D2.
  • F (= fast setting) indicates fast setting for cementitious mortars.
