The swimming pool with sauna and wellness area on the island of Fehmarn offers a unique view of the Baltic Sea. To make the interior shine again, the bath was subjected to a complete surface reconstruction in the area of the pool circulation, the entire floor surfaces in the wet area as well as the tiled running surfaces in the dry area.
The project
After removal of the old tiling, the subfloor had to be prepared. First, a self-levelling compound was applied for a levelled surface, which was then sealed with a Flex sealing slurry and sealing sheet. With the laying and grouting of 600 m² of ceramic tiles in 25 x 50 cm format and glazed porcelain stoneware, the project was completed on time after 10 weeks, in accordance with the set deadline. A high hygienic demand on the finished floor surfaces for a long-term and therefore sustainable result as well as the implementation of a larger format to the existing slope situation were the primary requirements of the project, which M&M Moritzen Fliesen GmbH from Gremersdorf took on.
