Codex on the podium for the seventh and eighth time

In this year's readers' choice of the trade journal “Fliesen + Platten”, the Building Chemicals manufacturer codex has won a podium place for the seventh and eighth time in a row. In the vote for Product of the Year 2019, the lightweight multi-flex mortar codex Power CX 7 took first place in the category of tile adhesives. In the substrates and waterproofing category, the one-component high-tech sealant codex AX 230 was awarded second place. At the award ceremony on 13 February at the Fliesen + Platten Forum in Cologne, Managing Director Mario Meuler accepted the coveted certificates together with Joachim Fülle, Head of Application Technology and Product Management, and the Sales Managers Peter Busse, Manuel Schwab and Christian Becker.

What makes the two products that successful? The light multi-flex mortar codex Power CX 7 is regarded as the all-rounder among the adhesive mortars. It can be can be used as a fluid bed, thin bed or medium bed mortar or for levelling. Thereby it covers 90 percent of all tiling work. Its properties are described as extremely stable, with a long processing time and high coverage at low mass. This comes thanks to a unique combination of lightweight fillers, which makes the 14 kilogram bag almost as efficient as a conventional 25 kilogram codex thin-bed mortar.

The new 1-component high-tech sealant codex AX 230 dries quickly and reliably, even at low temperatures, and can be tiled after just 4 hours. Depending on requirements, the sealing compound can be easily rolled, brushed, trowelled or sprayed on walls and floors. With all the processing possibilities, the required dry layer thickness of 2 millimetres is achieved, which allows rapid progress on the construction site. codex AX 230 is fibre-reinforced and thus highly flexible, stress relieving and crack-bridging. The special microfibers also ensure an increased stability on the wall.

Every year the trade magazine “Fliesen + Platten” calls on its readers to choose their favourite product in 6 different categories. Only F&P subscribers of the tile companies may take part in the voting and thereby only the persons who also work with the submitted products and can judge them best. The voting took place from 25 November to 17 January by questionnaire or online voting.
