New cement-based flowing screed EX 80 Flow & light multi-adhesive Power CX 7 harmonise perfectly in the renovation sector.

Ulm-based construction chemicals manufacturer Codex presents two of its current top products at the NordBau trade fair in Neumünster from 11 - 15 September 2019: the lightweight multiadhesive codex Power CX 7 and the brand new EX 80 Flow flowing cement screed. Due to their exceptional properties, both products are particularly suitable, among other things, for the professional laying of tiles and natural stone in scheduled renovation projects. "With the EX 80 Flow and the Power CX 7 we have two ingenious new developments in our luggage at the NordBau. Both are convincing through their multifunctionality and make the tiler's daily work a real relief for him", says Mario Meuler, managing director of codex.
The Codex team will be providing a first-hand experience during the daily live demonstrations at the exhibition stand in Hall 8, where visitors can experience the special properties of both products from mixing to processing. They can also become active themselves and try out the products directly during the demonstration.

codex EX 80 Flow - the optimally functioning flowable cementitious screed

In order to create a secure base for all surface coverings, it is necessary to install a large, even screed surface with as few expansion joints as possible. codex EX 80 Flow proves to be a simple and quick solution for screed areas up to 200 square metres, which makes the installation of expansion joints unnecessary. It combines the positive processing properties of a calcium sulphate screed with all the application advantages of a cement screed. The specially matched mortar formulation provides ideal stability and at the same time optimum flow properties. This allows not only an effortless build-up of the desired screed thickness, but also the easy application on large areas by gentle "buffing". Its good pumpability guarantees the installer not only a quick readiness for laying after 24 hours, but also rapid construction progress for renovation and new construction projects that are particularly tightly scheduled. A big plus is the low-shrinkage formula, which prevents cracking and bulging of the screed during the drying phase and thus maintains the evenness of the surface. This makes it particularly interesting for large format laying. The wide range of applications of EX 80 Flow includes all screed constructions, both inside and outside, and can be used in layer thicknesses of up to 80 millimetres, and in floating screed constructions from as little as 35 millimetres. Due to its resistance to moisture, it is also suitable for interior wet rooms.

After completion of the screed surface with EX 80 Flow and the appropriate primer and sealant, the new lightweight multi-flexible mortar codex Power CX 7 is used, which is considered the all-rounder among the cement-based codex adhesive mortars.

The mortar consistency can be variably adjusted according to the tiler's needs and the range of application can be extended accordingly. Thus, it can be mixed as flow-bed, thin-bed, medium-bed mortar or for levelling and thus covers almost 90% of all tiling work. It is extremely stable and dries quickly despite long working times, which makes it interesting for special applications in renovation projects and for laying large format tiles on walls and floors. According to the manufacturer, the light multiadhesive is particularly economical due to its formula. The unique combination of light fillers creates a high range with low mass. The sack weighing just 14 kilograms is almost as economical as a standard 25 kg thin-bed mortar. This makes it not only light in weight, but also easy to handle and process. This has many advantages for the tilers: the low weight and the additionally integrated carrying handle enable ergonomic transport and work that is gentle for the back. The multifunctional application possibilities considerably simplify work preparation and reduce transport and storage space. The specialist trade also benefits from the new codex all-rounder, which streamlines the product portfolio and reduces administrative work.

With these two new product developments from Codex, the brand for real tilers underlines its competence in the manufacture of professional tile and natural stone laying products.
